Strawbs have always been in my heart and in my record collection, well some of their releases at least!! So when a new album approaches in this age, their autumn so to speak, I was most certainly excited and very eager to hear their new effort! Could they live up to my big expectations ?! Luckily I found that they certainly could! Revealing my true age, I of course, have been there all the way with Strawbs in their music history that is.

I have been listening to music since the late 60´ and some voices, the vocal timbre of certain musicians have stayed with me for many years. Such as: Dave Cousins´ (others would be: Gary Brooker/ Glenn Hughes/ Peter Gabriel, the immediately recognisable singers through time. Now to the album, the music, I find it very good...a bit like seeing (hearing) a long lost friend after many years! It opens with a beautiful instrumental piece and seamless slide into track 2 " The Nails From The Hands Of Christ" I am immediately hooked when Cousin lets his vocal caress this wonderful tune! The nucleus of this fine band is of course: Dave Cousins / Dave lambert & Chas Cronk..veterans so to speak, but also:Tony Fernandez (Drums) whom have been around for a while..all doing a great job!!

I must also mention the ever present (In the prog realm) multi musician: Dave Bainbridge

whom delivers some excellent guitars and keyboard to this fine release, he just might be the vitamine shot, these great seasoned musicians needed ?! With no further ado, I find this album a real gem, welcome back STRAWBS !! This release will surely get many more spins in this household. I shant go into speculations on the title of the album, some has translated as to a final cruise on the sea of prog/folk. here´s hoping for many more releases from this band!!

P.s. NO I didnt do a rundown of every track, that is for you to experience and believe me you must!! It is a must own album !!
