Horizontal Ascension - Same

Horizontal Ascention are: Michael Hartman, Markus Roth & Achim Weirschem, all three worked their magic in progband Marquette (see review elsewhere on these pages) now they surface with this quite fine album.

With a variation of styles well within´ the prog music realm, they deliver a great set of tunes (and interesting lyrics as well) you get plenty of superb lead guitar (Achim) through out. superb vocals, great key work, you even get some flute and trumpet play and time changes/breaks enough to often direct the music down a different path.Great!!

Production is really good and the sound perfect.

After quite a few listenings, this outing of course grew on me and I were quite amazed as to how these fine musicians can deliver such high quality, not one filller, not one bad track!

Of course, as with most albums, specially with the excellent ones, one gets to have favourites, so here comes a few of mine, mind you in no particular order : "Devious Moments" / "Transformation" / "Shadowlands" last but not least, finally the epic " Until The Morning Comes" a masterpiece in itself!! Wait till you hear it and you must!

A híghly recommended release from this old geezer :-)
