Iron Mountain hails from Ireland and surely enough they let their folk tradition, music wise, shine through here and there, with Uilliann pipes, low flute, transverse woooden flute, violin, fiddle etc.! But thats only half the story, Iron Mountain lives up to their name by blending the aforementioned folk style and tradition with, would you believe a heavy (and I do mean heavy) dose of Guitar, bass & drums as in thundering drums, heavy chords and tight bass play!
Hard to imagine?! yes well it really has to be heard to be believed!! I have heard plenty of excellent electric folkrock bands in my time and I love both electric folkrock and heavy music. I have to tell you I find it a strange mix!!
My first thought is, that Iron Mountain might have placed their music between two musical chairs!
On the other hand, they dared think different!
The music herein are perfectly delivered, for me personally I am somehow bewildered!!
I honestly dont know what to think/feel!
I kinda liked some of the tunes here, others not so much!
But hey I am just the mediator, you are the real judge as to like or not!!
So give it a whirl, why dont you?!
You might be pleasantly surprised!
