My first and their third - that is, my first encounter with this Norwegian prog band and their third release. What a pleasant surprise it is, these musicians goes straight to the jugular of the wonderful and precious 70´s sound, that we all know and love (well I do), this album was recorded fully analog in Cowshed Studios, London, due to the bands wish to create the genuine seventies sound and it worked, big time! I had to grab the newsletter and the cd cover, when I first laid ears to this album, could this be a 2014 release?! It could and it is!! All tracks apparently were done in first take studio wise, I am very impressed with the overall sound and delivery, listening to this album is really like going back in time for an hour plus! Yes I know there is a contradiction in the progressive tag and the regressive outcome, but who cares ...this is a wonderful album! Inspiration sources and hints music wise seem to be early Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull and Warhorse, to name a few! That said, this band really has something going in their own right and sound! Since I am old school regarding rock music and prog especially I really like this release, I love their commitment to the idea of creating a 70´s sound album and deliver just that!! Highly recommended to every oldschool prog fan and lovers of 70´s rock music. No I am not gonna do a run down of fav tracks, I will leave it up to you to experience the album by yourself, get it, sit in your favorite chair, with your chosen beverage, lean back and enjoy!!
Me? I am checking out the possibilities to find their former works! Oh and the cover art fits the music perfectly!
