In a series of remastered Vangelis albums from the ever brilliant Esoteric Recordings, here is "Heaven And Hell" remastered by the man himself! It is a world of symphonic, cinematic, operatic and electronic synthesizer loaded music with excellence! The music world once were brimming with synthesizer music from the likes of Walter Carlos, Kitaro, Tangerine Dream, Edgar Froese (founder of TD and pioneer of synthesizers), Keith Emerson (pioneer of synthesizers & Moog) and also Vangelis (from acclaimed Greek early prog Aphrodite's Child ) to name a few! This originally released 1975 album really stands the test of time, with the lavish grand sound and the sometimes operatic sequences and of course the cinematic feel that most of Vangelis´ compositions have! Part one of this album also holds the vocals (and lyrics) of Jon Anderson (Yes) on " So Long Ago, So Clear" and the English Chamber Choir are present on some of the symphonic parts. All compositions and instrumentation are of course by Vangelis himself. This package (as always with Esoteric releases) is of course with a lavish cardboard gatefold cover and a booklet. This is one of the best albums IMHO of a series Vangelis remaster albums Esoteric have seen fit to rerelease. The series also holds the albums in no particular order: "Spiral"/ " Beaubourg"/ "Albedo 0.39" / "Direct" .. all remastered by the master himself and with said lavish covers! Any Vangelis fan will drool over these remastered works, me? I am not that big on Vangelis but I do like the very excellence of his symphonic and cinematic works! A keyboard wizard indeed, mind you not to everyone´s taste, but hey wouldnt it be a boring musical world we live in, if we all liked the same music?! Vangelis freaks ...RUN AMOK!!
