This is a historic album, not so much for the headlining eccentric British frontman ! But very much for the "Heavy Friends" such as Jimmy Page, John Bonham, Noel Redding, Jeff Beck, Nicky Hopkins! Lord Sutch was born David Sutch and he apparently had an outrageous stage act, with hints to his (no doubt) obvious influence Screaming Jay Hawkins, as opposed to Jay Hawkins..Lord Sutch really had a bad voice or rather no singing voice whatsoever, more like screaming and or reciting! The whole story on Lord Sutch can be had, on the always expanded essays on the booklet cover notes from Esoteric Recordings!! As mentioned the music here are blues rock/hard rock from mentioned (later) super stars, with the main figure being Jimmy Page, not only had he co-wrote most of the tunes, he also plays guitar on most of them!! This album has a strange aura about it, while I hate the so called singing from Lord Sutch, I kinda love the music, which somehow indicated things to come from the involved musicians! So a funny little gem, a historic piece of British music that I guess all serious collectors of 70´ rock/blues music should own! Me? I am gonna save this, for future music quiz purpose with my mates! I cant wait to ask the question: Now who´s this playing the guitar? Knowing very well that the horrid vocals will throw them off !! He..he... ahem...sorry !! 2 stars for historic value!!
