Its been a long time since I heard from Mike Florio, his 2006 release "Arisen" was very well received on these pages!! Now and finally (I might add) he is back with, in his own words, "Primarily a compilation of creative experiments and demo´s recorded during 2003-2012" . Not only is Florio a brilliant keyboards player, he also has a superb voice/vocal style, listen to the great tune: "Jerry´s Theme" , a little song that wouldn't have been out of place on a Toto or Foreigner album!! Most of the album is instrumental, with (surprise surprise) keyboards to the fore and I can detect some leaning to Tony Banks (Genesis) style composition, but also hints of Alan Parsons Project here and there, that is a good thing in my book!! Many tunes/compositions are of course (as indicated) bits, sequences and pieces that have been "dusted " off by Florio, since this outing holds 20 track during its almost 50 min. you get an idea of how short the tunes are, some a very short, but that doesn't matter when the material is this good. Some of the themes would be great for cinema/moving pictures as there are great dramatic feel to most of them! I am pleased to say that this album goes straight to my private collection !! Now how about a new album Mr. Florio??!!
