Goblin 4 - Four Of A Kind
This might just be their most "commercial" album to date and when you talk commercial regarding these musicians, it means superb musicianship and at the same time proving we are here NOW!!

Goblin have had many disguises over the years, I am of course talking of the change of musical friends through the many years they have existed !! My first encounter with them were, I think a horror movie by Argento, which they had created music to, while I disliked the movie ( Much too graphic violence) I really liked the music, that somehow was (almost) as scary as the visions on screen. They have created many album soundtracks for horror movies over the years and I must say that they really are masters in that field!

As I understand, there might be at least 2 versions of Goblin band out there?!

But lets not dwell in the past, this 2015 release, saw the union and/or re-union of the original members, thus calling themselves: Goblin 4.

They have always had a creative sense of soundscapes, due to the many soundtracks mentioned earlier, but they also..which I think, goes hand in hand with that imaginative musical world, a hint to the magic of say Pink Floyd at their most progressive.

This outing proves my point, they are much more song oriented here (even though no lyrics and vocals) ..what they do, is really creating beautiful tunes and delivering magical moments of music, well crafted and delivered! I really like this album! I love the dark and sinister moods they create and their past expertise in soundtrack creating certainly doesnt refrain in their musical inventions!!

I have heard this album some 5-6 times by now and it keeps growing at every spin, that is always a good sign in my book! So yes you guessed it, it is going straight into my private collection!! On a different note, one of my fav albums by Goblin is: "Roller".

This might just be their most "commercial" album to date and when you talk commercial regarding these musicians, it means superb musicianship and at the same time proving we are here NOW!! Highly recommended to any real prog friend and of course hard core Goblin fans! P.s. The live bonus track is quite good too!! So..what are you waiting for?

Go get it, you will be pleasantly surprised!!

Oh, as I am cover art freak, I must mention the cover art, which I honestly dont like!

I think (my personal view) this album would sell a whole lot better with cover-art that suited the music!! There I said it!!
