From TEN to NTH

This fine band delivers great melodic prog rock, taking it a notch further than hard rock band TEN (which had some prog tendencies) the connection here would be the excellent keyboard player Darrel Treece - Birch (yes ..formerly in TEN) whom send me this promo cd, with autographs and all !! Thanks Darrel.

The intro track " Kingdom Keys" are an epic prog tune with a duration time of: 15 minutes + with heavy undertones, musically that is ..and a somewhat sinister mode, superb delivery from all involved!! Special mention to lead singer Spud (nickname) he has a dark tone and quite good range, which suits the sinister opening tunes.

This band have been compared to: Pendragon, Knight Area & Arena. I can hear that, but I would rather say that they, especially on this their second outing, have quite their own musical trademark (yeah I know.. we have heard everything and all of it before!!) on that note they NTH are truly into their music and their delivery proves just that!

Oh..track 3 : "So that was the APOCALYPSE" really reminds this old geezer of mid period Deep Purple!! Mind you, in the best possible meaning/ way!

I really like this album and band, I like their somehow heavy approach and it is most certainly an album I will go back to ever so often!! Yes you guessed it, it is going straight into my private collection!

A fellow reviewer actually mentioned that lead singer Spud, sounded like Family´s (UK band) lead singer Roger Chapman, I cant hear that at all, while I acknowledge the fine vibrato of Spud´s voice, he is nowhere near Chapman´s almost sheep like..baahs.

So final word, I really like this band and album! If my simple words and sentences helped

you understand this bands sound and message and you nodded happily while reading, then you MUST hear this album!! Why wait ? Go and find this album, give it a whirl and enjoy !!
