I had high hopes for this release, since the references where those of the MAN band (the great Welsh psych/prog/rock legend) as the band and album title will reveal, it is indeed the son of Man, since the son of the late great Micky Jones (co-founder and superb guitarist /singer of said legendary band) son George Jones, guitars and vocals, is the front figure here and everything (well almost) here reminds of said brilliant Welshmen, from the cover art, the band logo to..er..well some of the music Man delivered.

Let it be said already, this is not prog nor psychedelic, but is is brilliant rock, played with enthusiasm and vigour. So as a long time Man fan and friend, this is..well not as such a disappointment, it is a pleasure...as long as you (and I) doesnt expect a continuation of the Man style and musical idea. These guys have their own agenda, of course there are hints and allegations here and there to said legend but thats about it!! This outing is really a great rock album and thankfully mostly in the old school realm music style wise!!

Plenty of great guitars, tight bass/drum foundation and good vocals, no nonsense good old fashion rock as yours truly like it!! So an interesting first album from Son of Man, lets see what 2017 brings ?! I have a sneaking suspicion, that these fine musicians can bring the house down live!!

Meanwhile....another studio album would be welcome and if I were to wish something.. it would be...guys..if you feel like doing longer tunes with a little more experimentation, as in musical excursions with epic lenght ?! Just asking :-)

I like this album!!

All bands/artists and all moozik aficionados, if you have not joined Planet Of Prog on their fb page yet you might want to join them here too. They are unbiased, very honest sharing the music from the greats to the indie starting artists and what I love the most about them, there is no negativity (you'll not find any pompous selfrightous know it all full of know better and how sermons on their reviews) no matter who you are, all their reviews the bands are treated with utmost dignity even if the review is not most favorable, that review will be honest, not pompous and most in awe respectful of the artist's efforts. I love them, love this site. Join if you want to,I like them a lot!
