This Norwegian band already has 2 albums under their belt and I quite liked their former album, this is more of the same, so to speak and meant in the most positive way! The cover art reminding heavily of grand era of Hipgnosis and Thorgerson and this of course leads any serious music collectors thoughts to the music of Pink Floyd ("Redemption" musically being a good example of this) among others. But mostly as mentioned in my former (read elsewhere on these pages) review, this band were highly inspired by Porcupine Tree, which if you think about it makes good sense since Porcupine and Wilson owe a great deal to the manners and sounds of Pink Floyd. I can hear you say " Why does these reviewers always compare styles and bands?", well yes first of all, it is a very safe (and easy) way to describe to you, what you are...ahem ...getting into, before contemplating buying the album! Secondly, I honestly wouldn't and couldn't compare a band to others if they were highly original, a difficult task and quite rare these days! Another brilliant example of Airbags inspiration sources (Floyd & Porcupine) would be: "Call Me Back" a superb track, with a dreamy, atmospheric slow moving theme eventually topped by brilliant guitar playing. A tune that even Steven Wilson would be proud of! Have Airbag progressed then? Well musically individually they have, not so much in their chosen music style, still why repair it if it aint broke! This is a fine follow up to their former release and I really like it, as mentioned nothing new and not that progressive in the true sense of the word, but who cares when the music is this good and the musicians great!? My final words ....be safe dont go without Airbag!!
