This is the third outing by Chris (Short for Dutch multi musician: Christiaan Bruin) regarding solo work, he also works as a musician (Drummer) in Sky Architect, a progressive rockband! Having heard and very much enjoyed his second album: " Making sense" (2010) with very progressive tendencies, I was very excited about this new album! Even though this new fare is excellent, it is not quite what I expected!! Chris have seen fit to search new musical grounds, thus not so much prog as...dare I say it ..I would have loved/liked and I guess, all of those who enjoyed his second brilliant album with hints and nods to 60´& 70´prog! Still the level of quality here is very high. Way beyond many releases of general prog output, even though Chris has seen fit to use drum´n´bass here and there and the occasional pop sequence (not a bad idea, mind you I like pop when well done ) but executed in such a manner that even "old grouch" here likes it after several listenings ! For this is one of those releases that will creep up on you..eventually! Yes I have heard this outing quite frequently these past days, that I actually have got some fav tracks: "Colours Come To Life" / "The Sky Falls Down" / "Stars Align" and "Nowhere To Go".

So a recommended album for those of you whom are new to this fine artist and liked the above. For those of you loved the 2010 release " Making Sense" give this a chance and a whirl, you might be pleasantly surprised, as I was, after all!!

Chris wrote the music, lyrics, produced and played almost everything and anything here!!

Great cover art!!

All bands/artists and all moozik aficionados, if you have not joined Planet Of Prog on their fb page yet you might want to join them here too. They are unbiased, very honest sharing the music from the greats to the indie starting artists and what I love the most about them, there is no negativity (you'll not find any pompous selfrightous know it all full of know better and how sermons on their reviews) no matter who you are, all their reviews the bands are treated with utmost dignity even if the review is not most favorable, that review will be honest, not pompous and most in awe respectful of the artist's efforts. I love them, love this site. Join if you want to,I like them a lot!
