I loved Census Of Hallucinations former album. This new outing comes with a whole nother musical direction, namely that of so called space rock/prog. Musically it is fine, trouble is, most of the album (with a few exceptions) has no real construction in the normal sense of the word. That doesn't mean its bad, just don't expect tunes or song in the traditional way! For space rock/prog friends it is, though not very innovative, a fine album. If you , like me, were fond of said former release, then enter this outing with caution, but do keep an open mind. As with the former album these musicians are good and it is always a pleasure to hear John Simms´ (yes it is he of Clear Blue Sky) soaring and/ or high flying guitar soli. To sum it up, this is about electronic soundscapes more than structured songs. Spaceproggers should definitely hear it !! The rest of you with an open mind give it a whirl why don't you!
All bands/artists and all moozik aficionados, if you have not joined Planet Of Prog on their fb page yet you might want to join them here too. They are unbiased, very honest sharing the music from the greats to the indie starting artists and what I love the most about them, there is no negativity (you'll not find any pompous selfrightous know it all full of know better and how sermons on their reviews) no matter who you are, all their reviews the bands are treated with utmost dignity even if the review is not most favorable, that review will be honest, not pompous and most in awe respectful of the artist's efforts. I love them, love this site. Join if you want to,I like them a lot!
